The Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the Chair & Co-Chair of the 36th Annual University of Okoboji Winter Games scheduled January 29-31, 2016.
Chair Nick Stauss is a lifelong resident of the Iowa Great Lakes and a graduate of Spirit Lake High School. Nick resides in Spirit Lake and is a Realtor/Co-Owner of Stauss Realty. It was actually at the 2003 University of Okoboji Winter Games that Nick had his first date with now wife, Carrie, who works with at-risk youth. Their adorable daughter Emily turns 2 this coming November.
Nick has been involved in countless facets of the Winter Games over the years, is a board member of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, involved the NW Iowa University of Iowa I-Club and is excited to bring new events and sponsors into the fold for the 2016 edition of the games.
Co-Chair of the 36th Annual University of Okoboji Winter Games is Greta Gruys. Greta is also an Iowa Great Lakes native and Spirit Lake High School graduate who returned to the area with her husband to raise their family.
Greta loved growing up in the Iowa Great Lakes and is so happy and proud to call this fantastic community home. She is a certified family nurse practitioner and her husband Nate works as a consultant with an Oracle software partner. Greta and Nate are busy parents to three young children; Ilsa, Henrik, and Petra. In her free time, Greta and her family love being outdoors and enjoying the incredible activities and opportunities here in the Iowa Great Lakes including the Dickinson County Trails, boating, and golf.
